“XI Conferência Anual do Turismo” was the 11th edition of one of the most important annual events, regarding the future of tourism and economical sectors, in Madeira Island.
Madeira has been a well-known tourism destination for a few centuries now and it is both essential for Madeiran community and its economy to maintain traditions and continue to be known as a very welcoming tourism location. Every edition has a specific theme or subject to be the motto for several debates and discussions, separated by panels with different groups of experts, along the day. This particular edition was about “Brands” - meaning “Marcas” in portuguese.
The word “Marcas” has also another meaning in the Madeiran context and dialect which means - buttons. This is a “regionalism” we played with and used it as the main concept for designing the image and poster of this 2017 edition.
