Afternoon Tea - Reid's Hotel

The Afternoon Tea (or 5 O’Clock Tea as they call it in England) is one of the oldest and finest traditions of Belmond Reid’s Palace Hotel. This tradition takes us back to the times when the Union-Castle line issued regular links from England to Madeira. The hotel balcony, with its privileged views over the ocean, has the perfect conditions to make this moment a unique and exquisite experience.

With its own personalised set of porcelain (Vista Alegre - portuguese porcelain brand), especially made for this moment, this afternoon tea is an experience that this five star luxury hotel is really proud of.

Redesigning Belmond Reid's Palace - Afternoon Tea Menu became a compelling challenge - this piece not only had to be truly special but also something that could become part of the experience. The goal was to create a design piece that guests could appreciate and experience not only for its content but also for itself.

Every detail of this editorial design piece was carefully elaborated. A set of personalised pencil coloured hand drawn illustrations by Pedro Berenguer (local artist), fine printed, saddle sewn binding with foil details, followed along with its design, made it worthy for this distinctive moment.
